About The Play....
Oh, my gosh, there's trouble on this here Seagull Lake, you see. Yea, it's winter and these goll darn students don't have a clue how to fish. Emma, Fred, and Ralph aren't too happy with that professor guy either. And, not only that, there's this fish who wants to be on Broadway. He never could sing a note or much less dance. Then there's Wanda, the bait lady. Well, all the guys in New Ulm say she makes the best stew in town.....sometimes makes your gums stick together though if you don't have your teeth in. Oh, and then there's that Oris. You know, the know-it-all who owns the sport shop. Why, he'd sell swamp land to his grandma. But then not all of her stars are shining either.
You even get to sing along every once in a while. Well, just along...no solos. We're the actors and actresses. You just pay for the ticket.
Now I'll bet you're just dyin' to know some of the songs in the play. So here goes:
Fishin' Samba, It Could Be Worse, Guys Just Wanna Have Fun, White Clover Waltz, Fisherman's Rap, It Ain't So Neat To Be Stuck To The Seat, Minnesota Nice, Minnesota Stew Glue, Northern Lights, I'd Rather Be A Singer Than Up There On A Stringer, When The World Works Together
If you're wonderin' if we have pretty girls dancin'....well, yea, of course. This is Minnesota!
The guys aren't too bad either.
